+1 yWe are planning to have a party (usually rotates)
it usually involves the following.
music
live music - someone sings, plays stuff etc
stupid games
food lots of it, usually a large pot of curry, pot of chilli, random vegetarian curry, snacks such as pizza.
stupid drinking games
drunken singing
New year
Toasting absent friends (with tears usually and laughing lol).
stupid games or dancing
even more stupid drinking games.
We try to have a New Year’s Day walk (sometimes a swim)
back home and big breakfast.
every one attending brings booze, some food or snacks and possibly a game.34 Reply- +1 y

Don't lie. You spend it at the Torture Garden... 😕😂 - +1 y
@PrettyPriya shhhhhhn you are not supposed to know stuff like that.
Also we had looked at going but we’re more concerned about lockdowns or 1 or more not being able to make it.

Yeah, I have a feeling lockdowns are going to be an issue. All I hear about right now. No matter, we all make the best of what we can! ❤️ - +1 y
@PrettyPriya thank you for MHG, much appreciated 🍾🕺

+1 yI work 10 day stretches, followed by 4 days off. There are no days when we are not providing electricity. Thus far, in my career, my schedule has worked out that I get Thanksgiving and Christmas off, but need to work New Year's and Independence Day. I also work 3rd shift, meaning that I work from 11pm to 6 am. So I will be at work.

At least you get some holidays to spend with family/friends! I'm sure you are looking forward to Christmas. 😊
- +1 y
Absolutely. I'll take Thanksgiving and Christmas with family over New Year's and the 4th of July, no question. Better food, and a closer, more personal atmosphere.
- +1 y
Good point! I hope you have a wonderful holiday. Cheers!
- +1 y
You too!
+1 yBinge watching old Twilight Zone episodes on the Sci-fi channel (they have a 24 hour marathon every New Years Eve), eating tasty food, then going to bed-
It sounds boring, but the new year is going to come, no matter what you do or don't do, so I do what makes me happy: relaxing at home.13 Reply- +1 y

So long as you do what makes you happy, that is all that matters. 😊 - +1 y
It does! :)
You have any special plans this year, other than hang out on GaG? - +1 y
@Cynicaldreamer
I have plans with friends. Nothing big but just a excuse to have a get together. 👍
+1 yWhile I do spe d it with my S. O. my partner dad and myself volunteer for our local rescue squad so that others on our first aid squad can go out and party.
14 Reply- +1 y
That is a wonderful thing to do! Very unselfish and must feel good to close out and start a new year with a good deed. 😊
- +1 y
@PrettyPriya. It dose feel good. I get to spend the night at my own house with the people I love. And we set up a little party of our own. Just alcohol free. We grab an ambulance from our squad building and keep it at our house so our response time is only a minute. And for the most part we usually only have to lock up my dog so he doesn't eat any of the snacks. Lol

@SexyPetite
Well it is a very kind thing to do and I hope it is a safe and happy time for you all.
Enjoy! ❤️ - +1 y
I see your in health care as well. May you have a safe and happy holidays this year and all to follow

@ez-bri-z
Why thank you kindly. I will! ❤️
Normally have a dinner party at my place, around 8 to 12 guests. Nothing last year due to lockdown. But hoping to have a few over this year, probably only 6 to 8 of us. Drinking, eating, games and maybe a spot of debauchery 😂

I see another notification for a response to legendaryicon. This user has blocked me for not giving MHO to him.
It is quite funny as I gave MHO to @SexyPetite for her volunteerism on New Years. I believe this is the first interaction I have had with that user.
So, hardly biased. 😊
