Do you find this social media annoying or not?

Christmas and New Year is just around the corner and people most all enjoy posting photos and videos of theri respective celebrations with friends and family, photos and videos of food, the venue where the activity takes place to show off, some may be a lavish venue others are humble and simple ones but then most of people like to post their personal and family things and share it with the public. I do have social media but I dont do that for me celebrations like this are personal and family I dont go to social media to show off I had food at my table and I receive gifts and also why I need to share to people how I celebrate my festivity anyway? For me it is something personal not public or viral.

Then it comes something that i personally find annoying and I want to ask myself or wonder why people do it is it to flaunt they have $$$ and can afford of what other reason or valid reason there could be. This time of the year is also a time where most people travel as they want to spend their Christmas and New Years eve in anotehr country. Yeah plane tickets around thsi tiem of the year are the most expensive but still people fly as for them spending new year or Christmas in other countries means more and it is more fun than staying at their country doing the same exact thing (they still can have fun in their country anyway) they do over seas. So each Christmas and each year I had seen the same exact thing from the same people or other new ones. Posting videos and photos of how they celebrate Christmas in anotehr country (USA; Europe, Asia or whatever they are) and they post and post photos. They never post photos of other stuff any other time of the year, just when it is Christmas time and New Year is when these people like to show off!!! like saying or thinking "Ohh I only celebrate holidays in anotehr country, It is more fun and I have money, look at me, look at me""

they post photos or videos of themselves celebrating in other countries and make their photos viral for what? This particular friend I know got married like 3 years and there is no Christmas or New year that he does not spend in other countries, only at this time of the year he post photos. Last year he was in Europe with his new wife this year the same in Europe. He even post photos of him getting married by the church in France some days ago and now he is in Spain. during the year not one photo of him on social media, then comes Christmas and he fill his account with photos and now he is in England with his wife and daughter.
Im not jealous or I am bitter I jsut want to know why some people like to do this particulary on this time. Do they enjoy showing off and tell people "yes I have money to spend".
