Why don't I get any dms?

i don't post a lot on ig since im not photogenic but i still have some decently nice pictures on there. I also have my vsco in the bio and I try to post good pictures. For some reason girls make it seem like they get a lot of dms, I don't know if they actually do. Some guys I talk to also say things like "u must get a lot of guys sliding in ur dms" but i don't. Not that I'm complaining, but why does it seem like guys hit up other girls on IG all the time and not me... my friend also told me that this guy from our gym DMed her and lowkey hit her up, he tried talking to her in person and such. That same guy told his guy friend *who later told me* that he thought i was "hot". He later followed me on ig but he didn't even try to talk to me in person or message me... why would he hit her up and not me? what am i doing wrong to push guys away or something? Hopefully this doesn't give the impression that i want attention, I dress modestly, I don't really flirt or wear makeup and i'm too shy to enjoy attention, but I genuinely don't get if there's something wrong w me... The only guys who talk to me are the ones who are not my type:/

You should interact with your followers and people who you follow. Even a simple "Hey, nice pic!" or say someone posted a picture of a party you were at last night you can comment "Had a great time and I look forward to more like it!" Interaction will boost the number of people you communicate with and eventually will lead to DMs and such. All you have to do is put yourself out there a bit. And it's pretty easy to do so on Instagram.

There's nothing wrong with you. You're stressing out about something that really doesn't mean a lot. Trust me, I know a lot of girls who will tell you don't want a lot of DM's because the large majority is just a bunch of creeps.

That being said, what does your bio say? Is your username weird or boring? That can be a deterrent at times. Could mean all the difference between attention you seek and guys hitting the back button.

I'm not going to lie, if I was interested in a girl, and I saw that in her bio, I would probably raise an eyebrow, say a long, "Oookayyy?" then proceed to hit the back button. Especially if I wasn't super crazy about her.

It sounds incredibly ambiguous so therefore hard to relate to. You could be referencing anything with that bio. You want to give people either something to relate to or something to go off of (info about yourself). It drives interest up. Throw a cool, thoughtful quote up. Or throw some quick points about yourself on there. Cliche but it works.

I kind of equate it to that person with that annoying personalized license plate. They have some weird reference on there that no one else understands except them. Someone in my area that drives around with a state-issued personal license plate that says "NO U R 1" Every time I see it, it makes me shake my head and want to slap the owner.

Probably not a direct 1:1 comparison but you get the idea. It confuses or annoys people.

PS. Throw on something nice, and upload some more pics of yourself. People will notice a deficit in the ratio of selfies to other posts when it comes to women. Selfies (god I hate that word) show confidence, so light up your profile a bit.
