They’re you in every regard—appearance, personality, interest, skill, and outlook-wise. You have everything except your biological sex in common.
What would be your relationship to someone like this? Would you be friends? Enemies? ... Lovers?
With a nihilistically misanthropic but cultured cat-person?
I think we would be bound by a mutual sense of belonging, exchange cat gifs often and say "quite" so regularly that it would become monotone.
Probably an unbreakable friendship, but I don't think there is much of a chance that I would become romantically interested in (my) selves.
I don't believe relationships can work without power balance.
I wouldn't be able to eliminate my drive to assert my emotional and physical dominance over a lover.
So assuming the clone is exactly the same (including nurture) it would result in a paradoxical situation of neither being comfortable in assuming either role.
Similarity, on paper, sounds like it would be inherently complementary, but I don't necessarily think that it is.
I think there should be enough of a difference to instill comfort in the other person but not so much that expressions of it would start to make the other person uncomfortable. (too extroverted vs too introverted)
Also, I would hate to get out the door and see someone else working on my moss garden or trying to assert their dominance over the coals in my garden grill.
They DO better come out the house and say "wow, your passion for moss gardening surely makes our yard look gorge" but not just take it away from me and offer nothing for me to get interested in in return.
And of course, as much as I like athleticism... I don't think I would find a female with my kind of upper body to be particularly attractive.
How would heat transfer work in that case, after all?
Boy, you put some thought into this. :D
"Similarity, on paper, sounds like it would be inherently complementary, but I don't necessarily think that it is."
It wouldn't be, not in the long-run. Initially, there would be an "oh, look at that, we agree on everything! Let's talk about [insert thing that we like/agree on] or do [insert thing that we like/enjoy]." But, after awhile, you'd start to feel the lack of variety in your life. You'd feel that you have nothing to learn to gain from your partner. You might evade a lot of potential disputes, but you wouldn't have any enriching debates, either. You wouldn't be able to bond over anything that you didn't already have an interest in. No new interests would be sparked, no new vistas explored.
Also, yes, someone who is exactly like you would probably take over your hobbies. I think I'd have a problem with someone who shared my passion and skill for cooking and liked the same recipes.
I can just imagine waking up, finding all my posh-expensive toffee chips and organic banana flour gone… and not being able to criticize them for it, because, damn, they made one scrumptious loaf of banana bread. It’d drive me mad.
What’s more is that they’d probably use my personal, off-limits utensils. I mean, if I like those, then they’re going to like them as well.
Nobody to school or get schooled by via the means of tangential outbursts of information.
That would certainly be depressing.
You can rest assured though, baking is certainly not one of my strong sides, if any side at all.
Preparing food without being able to fiddle with it as it happens sounds like a pointless endeavor to me.
Likewise, grilling has never been my specialty. I'll happily leave the meat-flipping and coal-poking to you.
It's all about the intent. ;)
We would be friends, most likely we would end up sleeping together eventually but we could never be lovers and would just end up being just friends again. Would not be possible to be lovers with someone on the long run if we were exactly the same in every regard. It would get boring as hell.
Honestly yes, i think we'd get on great lol, i wouldn't want to date them as i doubt i'd be attracted to someone similar to me in that respect, but i know friendship wise i'd enjoy hanging around with someone very similar to myself if they had the same hobbies and enjoyed the same things, and we were in sync in how our mind works and same sense of humour.
I know i'd clash with that in some ways but overall i think i would.
clash with them*
I think we'd be great friends and would get along well. And oh how the pathetic morons in my town would just love that! I'm so popular already- just imagine if there were two of me, a male me at that.
Scratch that we'd probably end up in prison lol
And no I wouldn't fuck the male version of myself- too twisted even for me.
The guy I’m currently seeing is just about the same person I am. Instantly attracted to eachother and our sex life is great. Him and I were and are great friends even before we started seeing eachother
I'd honestly probably try to fuck it, except I feel a male version of me would be uglier than female me.

Oh he'll ya! We would have an awesome relationship. I've actually met a girl very very close to my personality work ethic attitude and Outlook and even physical Fitness, and admittedly was about an inch taller than me. Unfortunately she had already found her life partner before our paths crossed.
I'd probably take people's advice and go Fuck myself.
Nope... She'd be too annoying and meticulous and overly demanding... Even though she'll make me think a lot and laugh a lot... It's not worth the effort...
Maybe if we had a long distance relationship... Not meet but just keep in touch to share ideas and thoughts... Hmm... That might work...
In my case it would be kinda weird for me. I’m gay so I’m guessing she would be lesbian assuming the gender the clone likes is opposite. I don’t really get lesbians but is still accept them so we probaly would both agree to date each other Bc we would both be in the closet and want to hid the fact that we are lgbt
Maybe almost like twins, I think we would have arguments, have fun and just be like siblings, but capable of understanding each other quite well, I'm the only child in my family and I would love to have a sibling, nice idea to make a clone heheh 🙂
I met a girl like me once... we were both so much similar... it was so shocking and awesome at the same time...
And we had an instant attraction... but we were scared of it and did nothing !
We just had a week together so there was no chance anyway!
I think so honestly, we'd build and ride motorcycles together, cook really nice meals, speculate about life and have some pretty great sex.
We'll probably hate each other but, will soon realize that we're similar and would probably be friends or, even more.
What about sexuality? If the only different is biological sex? Anyway, yeah, I'd enjoy the companionship of such an individual. :)
If you're heterosexual, then they're heterosexual.
I'll be thrilled and will always appreciate his existence and contributions to my life. My male clone will most likely kill me. LOL!
I'd be bored. Very bored. Not 'cause I think Im boring but because I enjoy variety. A clone of me would be like an echo chamber. Boring
I could get along with them. In fact I have a very good friend who act just like me. The only thing is she is pretty and I could not date her cause she is too much like me. And i guess I could not date myself either lol. But i can be friends
Personally, everything else would work out just fine but I would make one weird looking woman.
Technically, a clone will have my chromosomes. Not possible. And also not wanted. The world struggles already with my FIRST edition. 😲
You might be the wisest of us all
Same sex or opposite sex sure. I probably wouldn't be attracted if they looked anything like me though XD
There would be ups and downs. If I met the male version of my ideal self that would be cool. Key word here is 'ideal'.
relationships are to complement one another not finding clones
We would probably not talk to one another then/keep quit, therefore I wouldn't know who he was.
No because I hate myself. I can't understand how people even deal with me as it is
No, I already hate myself. I'd hate a guy who would have to wear makeup to go outside.
