This is going to sound extremely sexist but I don’t think women are generally equipped to handle being president for example. Women in my experience don’t make the best leaders. They are forced to inherit this persona of masculine traits, and that means they’re not leading by natural instinct. Have you ever noticed how female police officers carry much more attitude in comparison to male police officers? It’s a persona to compensate. I’m not saying there aren’t powerful female leaders in the world, but I’ve personally experienced nothing but shitty female leaders in my life.

There’s also proof that men are more logical than women because women naturally make decisions off their emotions in that moment. Brain scans and all reputable studies say so.

Mathematics is all logic, right? How many famous male mathematicians are there in comparison to female throughout all of history?

I also refuse to blame this on the fact that women are all just so oppressed and can’t move forward because of that. It’s bullshit. Men from a logical standpoint are much better equipped to handle such powerful leadership positions.

Proof? How many powerful male leaders do we have in comparison to women in modern society and all throughout history? Boom. Is it oppression? Nope. If women were more powerful leaders naturally, then men would have been the ones to be oppressed. Your logic doesn’t add up. But please flatter me and tell why I’m wrong.

I really dislike your approach to supporting such a statement, but of course, that's just me. Are men generally better leaders than women? Yes... for now, that is.

From a sociological perspective: Males are groomed to attain "masculine" traits (i. e to be dominant, forthright, assertive). Whereas females are taught to be more submissive, domestic, and in tune with their emotions. When you are influenced and brought up in such a way, it is difficult to just revert or remove yourself from such characteristics. This automatically gives males the upper hand in terms of being a leader and having those qualities generally associated with the term.

From a biological perspective: Men tend to be larger, taller, and more muscular than females. They also don't have the many "burdens" women have to deal with that can stunt them (menstruation & pregnancy being the most obvious). Allowing them to be more flexible in a sense. We've been conditioned to believe that a lower pitch signifies a level of authority (another term associated with leaders) and guess which sex has a lower pitch naturally? And of course, estrogen and testosterone levels come into play at some point in this perspective, but I'd prefer to cut this short.

From a historical perspective: Not sure how men got the upper hand, but I'm assuming those burdens and physical traits came into play. When it comes down to academia (specific to the sciences and math) and history women were discriminated against and weren't allowed the same privileges as men. In terms of leadership, there have been powerful female leaders (and a select bit of warriors) but like I said before discrimination. Do not forget that these privileges were only awarded to women a few decades ago while men had millenniums to rule.

In modern day, there is an increasing number of female leaders that are great at what they do but it is tedious to get past the customs and labels of society. Your points are moderately set around "there are more of these as males" and "more famous".

I agree with you, men ARE better equipped because many are nurtured to be that way. In a few more decades or centuries I'm sure that there will be tons of females at the forefront (that are definitely better than males).

I'd say men are more natural leaders than women, our gender is naturally bigger and stronger physically and is naturally predispositioned to conflict and fighting so we're naturally always looking to establish dominance and generally speaking women are predispositioned to accept a man as a ruler and submit to him. Granted, we've broken out of our evolutionary boundaries the past few thousand years with the onset of civilization so I'd like to think yes, a woman can indeed be a leader and a President, just, it would never come as naturally as a man and she'll always be having to work harder at it in order to elevate herself to a man's level of dominance and even then, she may not achieve it but come pretty close.

The bigger problem here really is are there any American woman who could really be President? That whole fucking country's nuts, there's a shooting every week and I know, cause we hear nothing but that up hear in the Maple land when it happens. So good luck holding your breath on a good female President I'd say you'd be lucky to get a good President period. The States fucked up when they lost Obama, the first good President in decades, shoulda let him run again.

It's because we have a lifelong experience, especially those of us who had great fathers, to be taught how to be leaders, how to handle a crisis without breaking down, face our responsibilities head-on, avoid letting negative thinking patterns and emotions get the better of us, etc. We also have much of society, including many women, looking up to us and providing social pressure to fulfill such a role.

If we raised daughters the same way and gave them the same kind of values and social pressure, I think we'd find more great female leaders.

I attribute it more to nurture than nature, so to speak. For example, some of the finest female leaders I've met were raised around their fathers and brothers. They adopted the type of character traits needed to lead from hanging around strong male figures.

Testosterone doesn't necessarily create a great leader. For men we often have to learn how to temper the aggressiveness that comes with that so that we can resolve disputes, be the bigger man and let things slide in favor of a better outcome (without becoming any pushover), etc. Take guys raised without a father figure in their lives. Many are prone to much higher rates of domestic abuse, I read a paper that suggested ~80% of violent rapists are raised by single mothers, far more of them join gangs, drop out of school, etc. Being filled with testosterone makes it all the more important to learn those masculine values so that we're fixing things instead of destroying them.

I actually think masculine values and ideals (which can breed great and reliable leaders, peacekeepers instead of warmongers, impartial judges instead of those who are emotionally biased) are even more important to men because that testosterone makes it all the more easy for us to get angry, for example, and snap and act like a brute. Masculinity is what tempers that brutishness and gives us the right kind of psychological mindset to tackle the world, lead people, resolve disputes among them fairly and wisely, get our act together in times of crisis, and protect those who cannot protect themselves. But if women could learn some of these values in larger numbers, I genuinely do think we'd see some great female leaders rising from it. That said, for a girl to be raised almost like a boy is a very rare thing.

Not intending to ignore the biology but surely you've met a number of men who would make awful leaders. It's a minority of people we're talking about with genuinely great leadership qualities, and I see them separated not so much by biology but their upbringing. The women I've known who do make pretty decent leaders also had a very unusual upbringing, and they're not identical to their male counterparts naturally, but bring their own type of leadership skills to the table. They might be less assertive than a male, for example, and more agreeable, but have enough assertiveness to avoid becoming a pushover to an unruly follower.

There might be a lower probability in general for females to make great leaders due to physiological differences which impact psychology as well as many evolutionary tendencies (I think we are biased towards looking to the biggest and strongest man in many cases), but my thinking is that the best probability of shaping anyone, male or female, into a great leader requires providing them a certain kind of upbringing to build those character traits, and I think very few females are provided that type of upbringing, and also a bit worried that an increasing number of males are also being deprived of it.

Read my post cause I'm gonna rehash it but you have to face facts about our two genders and species: Physically, you women are smaller and weaker generally, men are just larger and stronger and if you want to debate that fact I mean, consult a science book. That fact alone makes men more suited to leadership, combat, labour and just in general gives us a physical edge over female counterparts. Take a look at all other apes on the planet, females are foragers, child-bearers, they're protected and fought over by the males (silverbacks for Gorillas). What are Humans again?
