Is it common to feel like the ugly friend?

The only friend that gets approached by guys is my best friend and she’s really nice and outgoing. She dates guys on and off as well.
Um but I feel ugly around her because guys don’t notice me if I’m next to her and when she’s gone they only glance at me and that’s it.

I also don’t talk to guys much and I’m not very self confident about my body either I just feel like I’m invisible.

I used to feel this way as well. My friend was much more outgoing than me, fitter (I used to be overweight), dressed better, and was a lot more relaxed socially than me. I was a nervous and quiet person, hid my body I was insecure about under baggy and unattractive clothes, and kept to myself and never really reached out to anyone.

I honestly think though, that the lack of confidence has a lot to do with it. A lot of people pick up on that, and confidence really can make or break a person's attraction or affect how they interact with you. Also, when my confidence was at its worst, I was so quiet people thought I was disinterested in them or didn't want to talk to them, and assumed I didn't like them. I definitely didn't mean to come off that way at all, but was convinced that the minute I opened my mouth, I would say something stupid and they wouldn't like me. Maybe you might also be giving off similar subconscious vibes of not wanting to be bothered, like I was.

No one is invisible yes guys do check you out and may be interested but maybe your friend is a one night stand type with no strings attached
