I think that souls are just us, but in our truest, purest form. Like in Plato's theory of forms, everything in this physical world is not the true essence of its perfect form. So my soul is just the purest form of myself.
With all due respect. Adults who believe that there is only ONE person for themselves are delusional. There are people you are compatible with (to varying degrees) and people you are not compatible with.
The concept of soulmates is based on The Symposium. Plato described a myth that early human beings were born with two faces, two sets of sexual organs, four hands and four legs that were them separated by Zeus and spent the rest of their lives trying to find their other half.
Most couples break up or divorce, and many people are going to die alone. It was probably much more common when women married as young virgins, but now most modern women have taken so many dicks that they are incapable of pair-bonding and love.
😆😆😆Nah. I just think the notion of a "soul mate" is nonsense. Things are not pre-ordained. Anyone can be "the one" if you're both willing to put in the work. And the REALITY is most people are not. Most people will always be looking for something better.
I agree that it definitely takes effort to make a meaningful relationship and to grow, but I don't think that can happen with just anyone. As far as I was ever concerned, having soulmate does not necessarily mean you will ever be in a relationship with them. It's just the thought that you have another half out there somewhere
But yeah, I see your point haha

I didn't say anyone would be the one I said anyone CAN be the one. Of course there has to be compatibility. But compatibility is more about willingness to compromise than anything. There's a reason some people form relationships easier than others. I'm not arguing or anything I just want to make sure my point is clear. Most the people that can't find a relationship, a soul mate or whatever you want to call it, can't because the simply do not want it bad enough.
Well, I do believe in love but I never want to be in one. The reason is keeping in mind the kind of person I am.
I have always been single but for the purpose of answering I will say that the standards I have are too strict and for me both physical looks and personality aspects are equally important to me and there is very little for compromise on either of them. On top of that the criteria is too strict/tough with plenty of deal breakers in it.
Hence it is simple I know for sure my soulmate does not exist, I can say based on how I am and my thinking. Simple.

I beleive soul mates are made, not just found.
Possibly, I never thought of it that way
Firstly, what are souls? Second, the math and geography doesn’t add up for each of us to have “the one”.

Why doesn't the math and geography add up?

The shear thought that one person is created for you is ridiculous.
Why do you think so :((

That doesn't have to be the only definition of a soulmate
Yes, but it is an incredibly rare phenomenon.
Why do you think so?
