Do girls like "that's what she said" jokes?

Are they considered funny or offensive to the point of being sexist?

This evening we were having a formal Christmas eve dinner with friends and family members. One of them said "I like the dark meat more than the white meat; I can swallow it easier." I wanted to say that's what she said so bad but I had to hold it in.

It's funny, in occasion, but be sure to know when not to say it.

Don't say it if:

-She's not in a good mood/she's mad at you.

-The joke's not very creative (i.e. Saying TWSS to something like "it's so big" isn't as creative/funny as opposed to one that fits perfectly, like one of these: link . So if it's not really that clever, don't bother saying it)

-Inappropriate occasion, with family/important coworkers (but if she's in a good mood and you whisper it in her ear she might laugh a bit)

-Don't say it all the time. It's funny one someone says it once perfectly timed, but when you're just constantly waiting for a moment to say it...it's really not that funny.

Otherwise, I personally think they're hilarious (as do most of my other friends!) and not offensive at all! Just remember, timing is key(:

I don't think "that's what she said" is sexist, and this is coming from that person who's usually a huge killjoy about jokes that are sexist, racist, etc. :P People use "that's what HE said" when it fits, too.

So the only inappropriateness you get from it is the fact that it's sexual/crude. Obviously at a formal dinner with family, it's kind of common sense not to say it, haha. I personally just scope out my audience when it comes to these kinds of things. There are some people who like it and some people who don't, regardless of gender.

I find them funny, to an extent. I remember when "that's what she said" jokes were so popular, everybody went around commenting it on every single thing. It was blown out of proportion and it lost complete meaning to me. However, now that the hype has died down a bit, I find myself enjoying TWSS-jokes again. It's a joke that's funny once in a while, but constantly joking about it makes it boring. I don't think it's sexist!

Haha oh man, good thing you held it in during your Christmas dinner. Timing is basically the key with this joke. :P

I find them funny. They're really common in my house. But it might not be a good idea to do it early on when you're trying to impress a new girlfriend or girl you're seeing, or if you're meeting her family. I don't know about family though, because everyone's family is different.

I personally would have busted up laughing my butt off. But that could just be my sense of humor, growing up and hanging out with guys. Sometime "thats what she said" jokes get annoying when its over used or dumb.. but other then that. If she has a sense of humor your fine :)

I like it if it's actually funny. It has nothing to do with sexism, it's just annoying when people say it all the time, especially after something that can't even be taken that way.

situations like the one you described above, I would probably laugh, even though I think it's dumb because I laugh at everything, and it seems funny, but in general I think they're stupid.

i like it to an extent. if you do it more then 3 times a day then hell yes it's annoying. I'd want him to shut up.

If something is funny, in any matter, its funny. But if it is just revolting and vulgar, Based on your judgment you should decide whether or not to tell it. I don't like vulgarity
