I think your view on them is quite tainted by your experience because ultimately it got destroyed by things you would have gotten into in real life to. My LDR is currently going very strong, we are on a level not many manage to achieve and i have not been able to achieve with partners before. And we are truthful to each other even if thats tough at times. So i don't expect many problems down the line, but it will be difficult trying to actually make it work in real life given the barriers we'd have to cross. Still, its worth trying to me. And the time i am currently spending with her is amazing.

Does writing about this experience help you to resolve your feelings about her? Does it have a cathartic effect for you? When a relationship disturbs me, a few times I have written a song and it was therapeutic for me.

It did. My mind is clear about everything that has to do with her.

Years passed, at first it was tough. With the years I realized breaking up was the wisest decision, and that it would have been wiser to breakup, long before. Ironically, the relation gave me a complete knowledge of LDR, it also made valid my excepticism towards online relationship. Excepticism I set aside when I decided to give my toxic positivity a trye.

I also wrote tons of poems and published a poetry book that initially had her name on it. The process was an odyssey.

That is what I suspected. I recognize it from my personal experience.

It seems that this LDR affected you in many ways so you always have something to say about it. It's a shame that it didn't work out, but hopefully you'll find someone who will make you happy (if you want to be in a relationship of course).
I was in a LDR once and I don't want to go through that experience anymore. I don't want to date men from where I live, I want to date foreigners like me. But I want to meet them in person.

Hi. It did affect me. I deeply believed we were gonna see each other in person.

I am no longer saying anything about it in MyTakes. Possibily, only in questions related to it, as a shared experience.

I see. Yeah, it's not good to keep talking about the same subject, especially if it's something that hurt you.

As to finding someone that makes me happy. It has always been myself. I don't relye on nobody to be happy.

Romantic relationships are not a source of happyness, they are a bridge to express your happyness intimately with someone else.

I mean, the MyTakes I did were instrospections. Instrocpections are always good. They help you understand yourself better, but you are right, everything has a limit, and I reached mine with the topic.

Your decision of dating in person is a wise one.

You gotta be really desperate or naive to fall for a LDR again, and again. I think most who experienced serious LDR, never gives it a second try.

I knew this girl from a forum, years ago. She knew a guy online, for about 2-3 years. They actually met. Everything was going fine, until she started to be verbally and physically abused. Finally, she ran back to her hometown. What did I learned from her personal experience? You just never get to know someone well enough, online. I mean, never.

Of course I'm not saying that you should rely on someone else to be happy. Sure you got to be happy by yourself. I'm just saying that you could be in a happy relationship.

I could, although, it is better to feel in peace before knowing one who would be a perfect match.

I agree with you about my Takes. That's also the reason why I write them.

Yeah you're absolutely right. People hide a lot of things online.

Yeah that's also true. That's what I've been trying to do now.

You'll be alright. The best things comes with patience.

With this pandemic is complicated to date someone, and with what you have said, I can only encourage you to fulfill your professional goals first. Only so you'll be able to travel wherever you want and find a trustfull relationship.

Well I'm not looking for a relationship at the moment, but yeah I'm more interested in moving on with my professional life than with my love life.

I've been in a shit load of LDRs.. and to be honest. I found them to be better than in person. Less drama.. less bullshit

This MyTake is the last one of its kind, and is nothing new. It's basically only to make more visible the other MyTakes I did, related to LDR.
