When two people like each other but aren't together?

I met this girl about a year ago and we've become very good friends. When we first met, we were very attracted to each other but nothing ever came from it and we remained friends. Now, I think we both might have some feelings for each other again but neither of us wants to admit it. We had been texting quite a bit and I got a few good night texts, which isn't normal. After a party last weekend, I texted her that I thought she looked really good but she hasn't initiated any conversation since then, which worries me. I texted her once since then and we had a good conversation but nothing from her. I'm afraid she's pulling away out of confusion since I upped the ante a little bit. I talked to my friend recently who knows her sister and her sister said that "she's iffy, she's not sure and doesn't know what to do" about me. Which if you ask me, is better than being in the friend zone I guess. There are times where I definitely feel like she still likes me and is confused about how she feels. I like her too but I don't know what to do either. I don't want to ruin anything but I really don't want to pass up an opportunity. And I'm pretty sure we both know there is something else here, were just not sure what to do about it or how much is there. So how do I handle this?

She must have made some assumptions about you over the past year, and when u complimented her looks, she knows its entering the serious zone. Maybe, she has some issues which she needs to sort out before she becomes ready for something deeper?

On the other hand, she also might have doubts about you. There are 2 things u can do. Since her sister is in the picture, you could first discuss this with her, OR you can write her a mail/letter talking things about urself that can make her feel comfortable, things u still haven't shared with her, which u think will help her in accepting u, and ask at the end of the letter whether she wants to know anything else about u. This could the first step in breaking down the barriers.

You need to let her know that you like her and she like you and that there's no pressure to make any moves. She probably feels like since you guys have mutual feelings that something needs to be done, but thats not true. You should let nature take its course.
