An older guy is usually more wise than the guys you usually might associate with.. and if that is the case and he knows it, then he will be very confident with all that he has accomplished in his life.. and he won't be reluctant to show it off to you.. Although that is the case, eye contact and a smile don't amount to much.. It's simple manners to keep eye contact and such.. If he does like you more than a friend, then most likely he will show generosity towards you.. even over-generosity.. more than he usually shows toward other people.. For example, he might buy you many things you desire just because you mentioned them once to him.. hesitating when you say you can't accept that gift.. things like that..
Another thing is sharing.. if after a short while of knowing him.. let's say a couple months, and he is really open to you by sharing everything.. I mean intimate details.. not sexual.. I'm talking about his past.. mistakes he made.. things he regrets.. things about his personality or behavior and his own philosophy.. If he can tell you all that without hesitating, then he is subconsciously expressing vulnerability.. basically putting all his weaknesses on the table because he trusts that you won't use them against him.. it's a way for people to let others into their world..
Those are the basic signs you can look for.. If you need some advice as to what to do to attract him further, then I think your body language should be similar to his.. but be sure to not be obvious.. so don't just copy his body language.. for example, he if puts his fist under his chin during a conversation, then do the same but maybe with a different hand and do it smoothly with a different sub-text behind it.. and give in a little if you haven't already.. it's all relative to how far you've gotten with him already.

Yeah men do that when they're nervous. I think he may like you.
He doesn't seem interested, but your lucky cause he seems like his trying to be nice about the whole thing.

I have no idea. 15 years difference? That's 15 years more experiance. Aren't your afraid of the intellectual differences? Anyway, I think you may need to give it more time. If he shows some positives, then go for it :D
did you ever find out if he liked you?
