My boyfriend gets annoyed at me when I'm on my period?

I get severe crippling cramps, to where its hard for me to go out and do anything. It causes me to get stuck in the bathroom. I also get very affectionate while on my period. I just want to be held!

If I get blood on the bed which doesn't happen often but sometimes it does, he gets so angry with me to the point where he shouts at me.

My boyfriend said he gets annoyed while I'm on my period because I get very clingy. He pushes me away. OR won't really talk to me for a week.

I don't know how to explain how I feel awful during my period. I told him that it makes me sick and he says I should just get over it... he would. What the hell?

He shouldn't yell at you for something you can't help like blood on the sheets, but he has every right to feel annoyed. It is annoying when you want to go out and your partner doesn't feel like it. It is also annoying when your partner is extremely clingy. The fact you are on your period doesn't magically make that less annoying.

As far as telling you to get over it, that makes sense why he would have that attitude even though it may not be the right attitude to have. That is how guys are commonly raised. Anytime guys have a problem we are expected to just get over it with no support from anyone else. This often causes guys to expect that women should do the same.

To me, he sounds like a selfish jerk of the highest order and I would be gravely concerned if my daughter was serious about such a guy. But if you think this selfish, self-centered guy is wonderful, then just put up with it and think of it as the price you pay for living with perfection.

If it doesn't change, I would leave him. He acts like periods are something you can control. Imagine if your ever have a kid with this guy. Is he gonna avoid you for 9 months? Roll his eyes at your hormonal mood swings? Get angry and shout at you when your water breaks all over the bed?

I mean, that's just me. I plan for the future. It's up to you!
