Why is my crush ignoring my friend requests on social media?

So my crush and I used to be best friends a long time ago, but then I've noticed that he wasn't that interested in talking to me anymore and we hadn't spoken in awhile. Recently, I saw him smiling at me and even acting flirty around me so I smiled back and sent him a friend request which he didn't respond to even though he logs on to his account nearly every day. Now he walks and drives by my house pretty often and looks at my house. I've sent him a friend request recently, but he didn't respond even after I saw him like someone's post. So I realized that he was ignoring my request and I removed it. I just don't get what is going on lol. Please help me!

Ok, but why doesn't he follow me back on Instagram? His account isn't private on there and I see him actively liking posts of people who he follows. That's what is confusing.

Wow, I guess so. I also followed him on Instagram and he's pretty active on there too, but he didn't want to follow me back after I liked some of his pics. I thought he's just not that into me until I caught him stalking me by my house even though he, his friends, and his relatives live pretty far from where I live lol.
