There's no easy way, so it's best to just sit down and tell them. Is it awkward? Yes. But not nearly as awkward as telling them you are pregnant. And if it's too awkward and you can't bring yourself to start the conversation, write them a letter or even send an email. Because you're right, they need to help you get on reliable birth control. Condoms are not reliable or foolproof. Back up birth control is crucial. Always use condoms, but also use something else. I am glad you are smart enough to know that you need to get them on board.

Do you need to tell your parents? Can't you just go on birth control without them knowing? Anyways to answer your question, I never told my mum. She just asked me one day when I was heading out to meet my boyfriend at the time. I told her the truth and said that I was having sex and then she asked if he was good in bed... My mum's weird lol. My dad complained at me when he found out and didn't speak to me for a little while.
I think there are ways to get it without telling them... or you could say your not but you just want to be ready just in case it does happen.
You said you are 16 right? well it's against the law that you are having sex with your boyfriend.
As a minor you shouldn't have sex. Most countries have laws against this. You should wait till you are 18.
Trust me. It's best if they don't know UNLESS your parents fully support you unconditionally and respect your requirements.
You don't want to be surveilled in the future. Keep it a secret!

Just flat-out say it. If they disagree, threaten them with the thought of a grandchild.
you could say you want the birth control your periods and hormones. there's many other reasons to use it than to not get pregnant
Well probably not when you're having sex... Maybe after?
Just tell them. No matter what you say they won't like it.
never tell them. because they might not accept that you are having sex with not boyfriend. I recommended that do not tell it
Well, it's simple actually. You don't say shit (Unless you've gotten yourself pregnant)
Why birth control? Just to avoid the condom? Not such a good idea.
just approach them an evening by yourself and explain to them.
sounds weird.
that's your decision doe
