Why does he constantly talk about himself?

He gets offended when I dont remember things about him yet he rarely even asks me questions. Im just sitting there listening like rolling my eyes internally.

Why do guys do this? How is it in any way attractive to see someone talk about themselves all the time? It so draining.

Everyone talks about themselves. Everyone everyone everyone talks about themselves. What you care most about is you at the end of the day. That's part of the reason him talking about himself bothers you. Because you want to talk about you. Him talking about him gets away from talking about you. So even when he's talking about himself you are thinking about you. You even outright say why he doesn't ask you enough questions about you. How he rarely spends time asking you questions about you.

Plus, most men spend their time listening to women talk about themselves for looooong amounts of time lol. So hearing a girl complain about a guy doing it, to me is humorous. I've lost count of the number of girls that drone on about themselves above all else. Like there's nothing wrong with talking about yourself. Everyone does it. The problem is when you use everything to relate back to yourself. If you're listening to someone elses problems and you're using that to relate the conversation back to yourself, then you're overly self centered.

Based on the little information given in this question I can only assume that he's not actually self centered. You just want to change the conversation to being about you, but you're letting him dictate the conversation and you're upset because he's not choosing to make the topic about you. You want more attention on you.

? It is he wants the recognition/acknowledgement/attention for his own ego. I think most guys that do this do not realize just how intensively they do it. Okay you don't reminder my B-day ask him what is yous... say see it works both ways (he may not have even asked you you b-day which just brings the point stronger into perspective) sometimes people just dont recall but if they never make an effort... then? But if it always talk about him maybe tell him something i know because you here and i know you lets talk about somethin g else... i am not sure that advice will work... but instead of talking about self maybe talk about art or a movie / tv show you watched and how unreal it was... anything, if he wants to talk about himself and you want to be with him say let me figure it out as we go!

Well, that seems fairly narcissistic and selfish the way you describe it. If he gets offended that you don't remember what he's said about himself last time you two hung out, he might either be irritated that you don't remember past conversations or he's somewhat harboring narcissistic tendencies, maybe both. If he's always talking about himself, then maybe he isn't a good friend or the right guy for you.

I tend to have a bad habit of this but have worked on it. The truth is that I have ADHD and just talk a lot. A lot of other people can't keep up with my pace in a conversation. I talk about myself in hopes that they can relate and then talk about themselves as well. Just how a conversation rolls.. ya know?

I would tell him that he is like that so he at least knows what he is doing, and of course that you don't like it. If he thinks that's bullshit just give him time to think about it and if he doesn't change then just leave him be, I'd say.
