My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 months. We are both in our early/ mid 20s. I am his first girlfriend and he is my second serious relationship.
My boyfriend and I met through a mutual friend and have been inseparable ever since. He is a very shy guy but had enough courage to pursue me through a good friend of his life. His friends who are my friends now told me that my boyfriend always wanted to be with a white girl (he's Mexican), which is ironic since I am Caucasian myself. I really felt I was exactly what my boyfriend was looking for until he mentioned something during a conversation that had me thinking different. During this conversation which happened about a couple months ago regarding preferences, he was sharing with me all the things he liked about me physically and personality wise since I had asked him. He then told me that before he ever had a girlfriend (I. e me), he initially wanted to be with a taller girl. He's 5"11 and I'm almost 5 feet (not tall obviously). When I asked him why, his reason was because he thought he wanted to have babies who would be tall. This was shocking to me because not once did he ever share that with me or had me thinking he even liked taller girls. He often times jokes about my height but says that after he met me, he realized that he likes that I'm short and loves me as I am.
However since he told me this, it really has made me insecure about my height, and that maybe secretely he would rather be with a taller woman if he met someone else. I find myself being really jealous and insecure around him sometimes thinking that if someone better looking came around who was taller than me that he would jump on an opportunity or leave me for them.
Just a side note: My boyfriend is a traditional mexican guy and has integrated me into his entire life. I have met his whole family and friends. He has told me many times he wanys to get married to me and start a family at some point. What do you guys think?
