I've been seeing my boyfriend for about six months now, and things have been great so far. Last week was his birthday so I arranged to have some flowers sent to his house, bought him a shirt and some chocolates. He told me was really 'chuffed', which is why I'm at a loss to understand his behavior recently. When I saw the photographs on Facebook of his night out to celebrate his birthday, I assumed it was a 'guys' night out as they were all guys in the photos, however from speaking to him afterward he let it slip that one of his friend's new girlfriend was there, I didn't say anything at the time as I was so taken back, and leads me to the question of why was she invited and not me? I am obviously shell-shocked and deeply hurt by this whole thing, I would be grateful if anyone has any advice as to why someone would do something like this, and the best thing to do about it? Thanks xxx
His friend may have brought her along uninvited and it was meant to be a guy's night out.
The truth of the matter is though, you won't know unless you ask him.
I had a similar problem with my boyfriend and I asked him about it... It was miscommunication. The host thought he was going to ask me, and he thought the host was going to ask me. Since I chatted to him (months and months ago) about it though, he's been really good about inviting me to things that aren't man-time :)
