Do you prefer to be the boss in your relationships, or let your partner be the boss?

Question

I've been thinking about this pretty much all night.
I've joked that I'm the "King" of my circle of fiancée, family and friends, but the more I think about it, the more I realize I should be the boss.
It's not like I'm being prepotent - after all they already put me in that position unofficially given the way they all orbit around me and look at me.
So in the next days I'll take steps to consolidate my authority with all of them - fiancée, mother, sister, friends and associates.

Personally I believe that neither should be the “boss”. This might be because of my upbringing and culture, since I’m from Denmark - equality is a really big thing here.
I believe that both should be a provider, caregiver, and protector. I believe that there should be a balance, a man should be able to be sensitive and vulnerable and a woman should be able to be tough and make her own decisions.

Saying that there’s a boss, kinda makes it sound like one is running the house, making the decision, and the partner just has to follow blindly.

This is just how I personally feel.

None of those. I don't view relationships in an antagonizing way. I don't want to be "the boss" and I do not wish anyone to be "the boss" of me.

As a man, I'm not only expected to be the boss, or more accurately the leader with the last say. It is also something that women desire, if they like to admit it or not (not speaking to you snowflake feminists out there). Hence why so many people complain women go for "bad boys". Well, because these "bad boys" are often the bosses and the dominant one. And it's not in my personality to get bossed around unless it's a higher ranking Officer at the Air Force. But in my own private life, no one bosses me around. And my girl does not want it any other way.

It seems to me like it just naturally happens that I become “the boss.” But I really don’t like to “be the boss.” I prefer to do w/e I want, and if she wants to come along for the ride, than she can come. But I’m not going to “be her boss.” That sounds stupid and annoying to me.

I wouldn't want the stress/burden of having to decide everything and prefer for things to be discussed and agreed upon together. I am also more of a "go with the flow" kinda person so unless I really feel passionate about something/strongly disagree I might even be fine with her making most of the decisions. I am not ok with her being bossy/rude though.

... hmm... I definitely like (and do take on) the caregiver role. I won’t do things that might frustrate, anger etc my partner. ( when I have one). But I usually choose a partner that is considerate of my feelings, and won’t ask of me to do things that I am against. So, I guess there is like a gentle balance.

I'm the head honcho. I would never submit to a woman in a relationship. The only women I submit to is my mom and grandma out of respect or a female boss at work because I don't want to lose my job.

In my experience most women prefer to be with a dominant man. Part of them like to have a man who can tell them what to do. Its like they want the feeling of being controlled but without the tyranny.
