My boyfriend discovered a luxury hotel in Italy and he wants to go there every year. The problem is that the night costs 1000€ and he wants to me go 50/50. I have no problem to go 50/50 for everything but not for prices like this. When I travel with my friends, we tend to take hotels which are about 200, max 300, so it cost us max 150 each.
I have a comfortable salary, but a lot of fees, I decided to pay my flat in 15 years only so it costs me a lot each month. And anyway, I am not ready to give 500€ a night for a hotel, even if it is like a heaven. We have been there this summer also with his son, we had a room for three and he was also suggesting I pay a half. At the end I only gave him some small amount but I find already the idea of asking me for half when HIS son is there a bit too much. (His son is lovely, nothing against him).
I do not know any woman in my entourage who would pay this money for the hotel. Nor does he. When I asked him if his ex, mother or sister would pay it, he said never. But he keeps insisting that we should go there and I should pay a half. I do not know how to explain him that I am not ready to pay so much.

Also, I am TELLING him that it is too expensive and that I do not want but he keeps insisting. I told him already many times. This is not about that I am afraid to tell him, it is about that he just does not get it and keeps insisting.
