Girls, Can having my girlfriend be the main decision maker work in the long term?

I've been withmy girlfriend for 5 years and we live together. We aren't married but in many aspects we function like a married couple.
It's clear that she wears the pants in the relationship.
Like dont get me wrong, we discuss things but if we can't agree and its getting into conflict territory she has the final decision.
It's also clear that as life goes on, in her career she is going to make a lot more money than me.
It's hard to explain, it's not a sexual thing but feel sort of calm/safe trusting her like that as she is clearly smart. In most other situations im a control freak except when she is around.

Can this sort of thing last?
Girls do you think she is comfortable with being the one in charge?
What are some signs that she secretly wants me to step up a bit more?

I think it can last, but what career are you getting into? Why aren’t you striving for a better career? It sounds like this type of lifestyle is hitting an insecurity in you, which can make the relationship not last.

I have a decent enough job.
Im an environmental scientist for an engineering company.
But she is a young dr on her way to becoming a specialist.
