Why does my ex act like this?

My ex and I have become on kinda friendly terms again where we message each other every few days or so, just to chit chat. He apologized for when he broke up with me, saying he felt bad and that he could've done something different at the time. I didn't see the need to hold a grudge and kept being friendly as that was about a year ago and by gones should be by gones. The relationship just didn't work out was all, there was too much going on at the time. He keeps wanting to hang out on weekends if the both of us ain't busy which hasn't happened, cause of working. The one day he randomly messaged me asking "what's up beauful which I was busy and didn't see at first. he apologized saying he felt spunky earlier? He went back to our normal conversations about video games, life whatever

Being friends with exs is very rarely a smart thing. Best thing to do is to move on entirely. Keeping an ex around can cause resentment and potential issues for future relationships.

He just felt so sorry about how he treated you in past, that is the reason we are simple, you dont need to read between lines

I know exactly, whats in his mind..
As i been in same situation.
He misses you and wants you back.
Exactly what happened to me..
Only difference is that my ex told me to F*off

i'm not sure that's very smart but I don't wish the guy harm or anything it just didn't work out at the time

You both just need to have proper conversation, and you will find out soon enough...
Also i think that, he sent that text "hello beautyfull" just to see, how you gonna react..
If you won't ask, you won't find out..
Just my opinion.. as i said-been same situation..
