Girls, Ex girlfriend behavior after separation/breakup?

Recently separated/broken up with girlfriend I've worded that way because I'm still unsure exactly of the situation as I don't get many definte answers even though I've asked , this all came about from a pretty rough argument, we've been together for over 7 years , now we are giving each other space which is difficult she my best friend and love her so much , one aspect I wanted to get advice on is we work together which is difficult at times during this I was having serious doubts about being able to remain there, so one day I was in the office talking to my boss about possibly putting my notice in and she found out some how and came rushing into the office and begged me to not leave , I simply told her that maybe it's not healthy for us to work together if this is it for us , she responded with, " please don't leave I can't not see you every day here" and that she loves me , and that I'm her best friend. I insisted on possibly still leaving but she talked me out of it. Can you give me your opinions on this? She seems to have back and forth behavior I've asked her right out if we are done and will not say yes just that we need some space and she can't answer stuff like that, she has a lot of stress going on and 2 kids she's dealing with and anxiety/ depression issues, any help much appreciated.

That’s a tough situation. I think that you two are the perfect candidate for couples counseling.
