Is it dumb to wait a year for a guy you only knew for 3 weeks? (Please read details)?

For background I’m 17 this happened last winter when I was 16 I met a guy on a ski trip last winter with my family we really clicked and talked everyday. I’m pretty sure he liked me back but we’re both pretty shy and being dumbasses we never asked for each others numbers. BUT while we were there we did both promised to meet up again same time same time next year (families agreed and began planned stuff about b4 we left) but I’m worried it’s been so long he’ll have forgotten about me by then or straight up have lost interest. It’s really stupid but guys don’t usually take interest in me so I tend to think about him a lot and am still really looking forward to this winter. Is it’s worth waiting for him or was it too little time to assume he’ll come back and still like me?

As guys we may not remember dates or your friends name, but we do tend to have a decent memory for people we were/are attracted to. I say don't get your hopes up and don't actively avoid other potential relationships. I do think he probably remembers you though and if he is as shy as you say there is a good chance he will still be single. If you do see him again, and your still interested in each other remember to get the phone number!! Also, I agree with @Aurora1010 This would make for a hella cute story!!

Realistically this only happens in the movies and you've probably way over-romanticized him by now, the snow, the lodge, the fireplace, the lost love... Plenty of great guys in your own backyard if you give them a chance.

I litterally don’t know any guys in my neighborhood, no guys talk to me, and the guys at my school are intentionally mean or just don’t care about me. I agree I’m definitely romanticizing him but I literally have no other options.
