Am I the only one who feels like genuine love in today's society is hard to find?

In all seriousness, I've always tried to comprehend how now day society works and I can't make heads or tails of it. There are so many people, and I mean a lot of people who use the word love all wrong. Men now days are mostly superficial, only looking for the next cutie to bed. Women look for worldly possessions like money, or other things. Then there is always the problem of insecurities on both sides. Wanting to go through each other's phones, not trusting the partner to hang out with the opposite sex without cheating, and in my opinion the worst of all is dishonesty when bad things do happen. Now, I'm not saying everyone is like this but a good 50% are at least in the states. It feels as though half the people don't want to put in the effort for genuine love. Why?

I can understand what you say. I would say yes you are right genuine love is really tough to find in today's society and especially if the man/woman has self respect and high standards.

I feel that this is unfortunate, because love is honestly a beautiful thing to see and find even if it's not your own.
