My boyfriend broke up with me today and said we should just be friends and focus on our goals and said he wants to get back in a relationship in 2-3 months should I wait for him or should I just move on and start seeing other people

A few days ago I had a conversation with him about our relationship because it seemed like he lost interest in Me and it seemed like he's been hiding his phone lately did he break up with me because he's seeing someone else?

Break up means move on. Get you another man. Go places without him. Cut it clean. Especially since he sould like you put you on a back burner. You don't do that to people.*
People want to know why and I get that its natural. But often it don't matter why and you won't get that answer.
However if you are living together, the reason you moved in together is because of your relationship. Then ya I would get a why. In that case only I would DEMAND a why. And start looking for another place.


*The 3 months thing is really off. Sounds like a few things could be happening. I don't like to speculate but here is one. Is he in a lease agreement and needs your half of the rent? If so that needs to be out in the open. Is some one coming to town for 3 months he knew from the past?
Is he going away and not sure if he can come back... that is just some strangely specific caveat.
