I suffer from Cynophobia, if you date me would you want to know that?

Cynophobia means an overwhelming fear of dogs. I tried avoiding all places that have dogs and sometimes even take a cab.
To get an idea of my reaction, this is how I felt (and always did since I was 6 years old) the last time a dog in a gated property growled and started barking a lot; it wasn't even those dangerous breeds nor that big but still:
- Sweating profusely suddenly
- Chills running down, gives me goosebumps
- Anxiety and nervousness
- Sometimes rapid heartbeart
- I stare there frooze, hopeless in total fear
- It can be followed by crying

Guys if you were to date me, would you want to know this?

I can't even stand dog parks, much less if they're loose... even if the owner is responsible. I understand there are good owners but I'm still afraid of them. It makes me hair stand on my skin.

Hm, if I would date a person who has cynophobia since I prefer cats anyways ( still like dogs though). I would start to gently suggest exposure therapy though since I do adore looking at videos of puppies and dogs to cheer me up when I feel down and out.

More so, since cynophobia affects the person so much as described, that they would go to great lengths to avoid the mere sight of a dog. Lorde that I would feel like crap if I didn't try to do something to alleviate the person from such burdening disorder.

I know how you feel as when I was about 4 a neighbors full hrown german Sheppard jumped on me and knocked me to the ground and stood over me. It scared me then and I've always been very wary and untrustful of dogs since.

Honestly no, that's just too much (potential) drama. I experienced such a person once. Get professional help, a phobia like this is relatively easy to treat.

I would want to know that up front. I can't date someone that can't be around dogs. I like them too much. Woof!
