Is there any way to find out if the person you are currently dating has cheated?

I have no reason to believe an unfaithful person will be faithful in a new relationship. Does anyone have experience or signs to look out for if your new partner may have cheated in a past serious relationship? It would be traumatic to go through a similar situation as their ex.
