Have some of you had relationship troubles from the start before it got better?

I’m having problems with my girlfriends family. The girlfriend really likes me and cares for me but my girlfriend family don’t like me very much because I’m older 36M and she’s 25F. We’re about 12 years apart. I don’t understand why people have problems with people with aged gap relationships. Also the other problem is her family don’t want her to ride public buses because we don’t drive. We been rejected from people because we don’t drive. Her family has interfered with us and had her banned from seeing me twice. Our date was canceled twice too. It’s getting to the point I don’t know what to do anymore. I think her family is trying to break us up and we like each other so much. It’s becoming a problematic for me. I can’t even go to her house at all. Without her brother breaking my neck.

It will hurt us if we break up and she’s the closest match I’ll ever get and I know there’s something better out there. If her family just let her have her freedom with me that will be great but it’s not gonna happen and she’s trying to get her own place from saving up

That's the gap between my daughter and her boyfriend. At first we were against him seeing her. When we got to know him better we learned to like him

Is it too soon for her to move in with you?

It always bothers me when people are happy and others think they have to interfere with their relationship. Maybe her brother should just focus on his sister being happy. If she’s happy with you then the age difference shouldn’t matter.
Maybe her family just needs to meet you and see that you have her best interests in mind.
Just make sure they know she makes you happy and you want the opportunity to make her happy too.

Maybe you both can save deposit, first month rent, and utility deposits together. Get her out from under that roof.
