ok so basically, me and this guy who used to date for a few months got into a friends with benefits relationship. He asked me to be his girlfriend and for awhile I was until I suggested that we go back to being friends. Later, I initiated friends with benefits with him considering we had already slept together and basically already knew each other pretty well. Fast forward, I'm starting to wonder if he still has feelings for me. I've found that the only thing that's changed in our relationship is that we 1) don't text everyday anymore and 2) we don't go on dates anymore. However, whenever I am with him, he treats me the same way he did when we dated. He's affectionate after sex, cuddling, kissing, telling me personal things about himself (family & such.) Rather than leaving right after, he spends hours with me ( 5pm to 12am) and always gets food with me. He never talks about other women, told me that I'm the only friends with benefits he has and that he hasn't seenor been interested in anyone else since dating me. I get the feeling he'd still want to date me, but am also lost because he tends to pull away & go cold when he catches himself being too "affectionate" any thoughts?

He probably does want more. Maybe a serious relationship. But you are the one who wanted to set the boundaries and go back to just being fuckbuddies, so there's not a lot more he can show other than that, but he catches himself if he gets to affectionate like you said. He's doing that because he knows you wanted to set those boundaries.
Truthfully, the situation isn't really fair to him. You're getting something out of it that you want (sex/friendship) and all he's getting is sex, but he wants more than that.
