Do people that take back a cheater, actually move past it, get over it?

Two couples in my area underwent cheating. Obviously they stayed for whatever reason. Supposedly they are happy couples.

If they stayed after getting cheated on, do they actually overlook it and get over it? I have a difficult time understanding how someone can work through that.

I don't think they can.

They'll always be that underlying doubt about their partners loyalty. Once a persons trust is broken after infidelity, I don't believe it's possible to trust again on the same level as before with the person who cheated.

Trust is earned, so how can a person trust someone who has proven to be untrustworthy. They have shown you their potential.. what they're capable of in the future

They may move past the hurt and forgive their partner, but I don't believe its possible to trust without developing insecurities and underlying doubts.

Most women don't care if a man cheats on them. From my personal experience I cheated on one girlfriend and she stayed and I did it constantly. And after that I had 3 other girlfriends and I told each I have no intention of only having sex with them and they all agreed I could step out on them and they stayed. Much easier to just talk about it up front.

But yeah in my experience girls just accept it pretty easily provided you can check all the other boxes of what an ideal man is.

About men staying... hell no I wouldn't. And guys who do that are desperate and weak emotionally. Because that is the primary benefit of a woman is sexual fidelity. Where for women it's a secondary desire. Women prefer to share the best man available because the primary purpose of man to a woman is to be the best in other aspects.

Yes. You don't forget but you can choose to move on and let the pain go.

The trust within the relationship is destroyed. But it can be rebuilt if the fundamentals of the relationship are strong enough and both honestly want to move on.

There are more reasons to do this as you become older, married, and have children and joint assets.

and sometimes that “potion” 🍷 is mixed with denial, and some oblivion.

It’s a terrible cup to drink from. I wouldn’t recommend it.

If they repented to God and are good people. Yeah. I would forgive them if I was cheated on at some point. Doesn’t mean I would take them back though.


Forgiving doesn’t always mean letting someone hurt you over again.

Never stay, cheating is a lack of respect, you can't love someone if you don't respect them.
