I love my boyfriend but he is too poor?

I'm typing off my brother's account. I really love him but he's so poor. He has a flat with barely anything in it. Because I'm moving in so I've had to buy him a cooker and new fridge. He got his meals off his mom. I really don't want to sound shallow. An I know he can't get a job at the moment due to mental health. An I can't work either due to my health. But this isn't the life I wanted. I know he's unhappy too about being poor. We been together five years but he can't afford to get engaged to me. I'm forever giving him money when I'm there to help with his gas bill. I really am nervous about moving in with him soon. I don't want to leave him.

If you love him you love him! One of the 2 needs to be more rich than the other one. Take care of each other, help him out financially while hopefully getting and asking for all his love in return dear
