It is 50/50 for me.

I don't rely much on my instinct/first impression that much.

absolutely yes...

so far, for good or for bad... the vibes I get from people and right away sometimes, they turn out to be consistently accurate over time

there's been those times in which someone seems "alright" or "not so bad" but I do get those vibes anyway, and then they turn out to be tricky people and sooner rather than later

and then there's also the times in which certain people are a bit more reserved or not so open yet, but I can tell right away they're all kinds of good and great, and even better... and time just proves it right

There is one person for whom I had the greatest respect for many years, then one day their true dishonorable colors emerged.

I'd thought I'd never been fooled up to that point.

Afterwards, looking back, I can see where the wool has been pulled over my eyes by others as well.

I'd like to say that I'm much more wary now, but how would know that I am until more stuff hits the fan.

I would say my instinct has been right about 85% of the time, the other 15% is usually when I just panicked and reacted in the dumbest way possible.

My first impression is almost always correct. I've only been wrong twice that I know of in the last 20 years.

I would say usually. I think sometimes I ignore it though or I make something into a self fulfilling prophecy where I want someone to be good and I make things into signs that aren’t.

That or I jumped to the wrong conclusion of someone good because I didn’t want to get hurt. 😔

But many times at a gut level I do know deep down especially if I pray. Sometimes it’s not what I wanted to know. But I need to and I’m glad later

While we all do mistakes and I can't say for sure than my instincts are always right, what I can say for sure is that when I didn't listen to them, I was BURNED!!! And when I listen them and they were wrong, I was less burned. So I chose to always listen my instincts. It's also natural no matter how you see it!

Most of the time, I'm not entirely sure what it means to listen to instincts. How to know if they're not colored by past experiences, good/bad/neutral.

First impressions can also be changed.
