Did my girlfriend ruin/ end the relationship or am I just assuming things?

My girlfriend and I have been together for over 9 months, it’s a long distant relationship. I always have to reassure her because of what she went through in her past relationships. Recently my cat died, and due to sadness I told her she is a bad girlfriend. And I also told her I love her because she is at distance from me ( far away from me ). Earlier today she told me she wanted to tell me something’s, and she went off saying how I should tell her what I mean when I say something because she doesn’t want to think otherwise, etc. she later on tells me why I told my friend about her , that it would’ve been better if I said she was a friend but then said it was only a suggestion. I told her that I’ll from now say she is my friend, and that I didn’t know if we were still boyfriend and girlfriend, but that I was going to treat her different and that I didn’t want to making a fuss out of it because she is getting what she asked for. So then it’s been 10 hours since I last replied and I saw that she told me that we were still together, that what she said didn’t mean she was cutting me off, blah blah blah. I don’t really know what I can do in this situation. I don’t know if what she said was a break up or was something else. Advice needed.

It does not sound like she was breaking up with you, it sounds more like she was hurt, confused, and trying to explain how some of your words affected her emotionally. Telling her she is a bad girlfriend and saying you only love her because she is far away probably hit very deeply, especially since you already know she has insecurity from past relationships, so she may have started questioning whether you truly wanted to be with her. The healthiest thing you can do now is stop testing the relationship or acting distant, clearly apologize for the hurtful comments without turning it into an argument, and ask for an honest conversation about how both of you can communicate better instead of guessing what the other person means.
