why else would they make a decision, if they didn’t benefit from it in some emotional gaining way. The person who decides doesn’t gain any physical pleasure, only displeasure at the cost of them (the ex) being comfortable, or in respects to a different perspective: not happy, and having the everything in their life, as the other part of the question indicates (on the opposite factor).

Maybe people just randomly choose with these line of things, who knows 🤷‍♀️😂
