Is always being available for a boyfriend and giving them food and money the female version of the nice guy?

After 2 failed relationship, I've taken my time to analyze what went wrong. This is what I've come up with:

- I was always available for them, even if one of them woke me up at 1-3 am just to talk to me about trivial topics. I had work the next day but ok, I never gave an attitude. I once called very early on his b-day and he didn't like it; said it was too early and to call back later.

- I was giving them meals too often and sometimes overdoing on the elaboration.

- Sometimes if they were broke, I helped out by giving them some money. They paid back eventually.

- Lastly, there was one time I was helped my 2nd boyfriend cleaning and dusting his appartments.

All that for nothing. Is this the female version of the ''nice guy''?

I don't know, being how you described made my husband fall in love with me. I guess it depends on the guy.

How long were you dating him before he propose to you?

We started dating in high school, and he proposed four years later. But we were pretty young when we got together so I don't think four years is necessarily normal for anyone else. It probably would have been more like 1 - 2 years if we started dating when we were older.

No. Men actually like nice girls. You're just thinking being nice works with all men, you're almost certainly just choosing shitty men or something more along those lines.

I'm not the first one to notice it then. Just like the ''nice guy'' isn't exactly nice for nothing and doesn't want to just be friends (he's ''nice'' for a reason), I wasn't doing all that for nothing, to date forever. I guess just like we can tell when a guy is being nice just to have sex eventually and be his girlfriend, those ex bfs probably could tell I was after some higher commitment eventually.
