Is it wrong to want to spend valentines day together?

Anonymous
The guy I've been with for nearly a year said he doesn't celebrate valentines day.

But... as a female, wanting to feel fuzzy and cute, I kinda wanted to celebrate it as its nearly been a year since we met.
Also, he has accidently slipped up and said he loves me when we've been having a laugh and messing around. I can sense it, it isn't the first time he's just spilled out the L word and went all shy and then took it back out of embarrassment.
I guess I'm thinking, if he loves me, surely he will realise he should be serious and maybe do something small on the day to be intimate and bond.
I don't think it's wrong to want to plan a date for instance
