Boyfriend is very busy & asked me not to be bothered if he doesn't respond quickly. I'm not, but should I stop texting him even good morning, etc?

I'm so confused. He implies he wants a relationship but at the same time he barely communicates via text. And then the last time we were together he made this quip of don't be upset if he doesn't respond quickly which I'm not.

Should I cut down on my texting to bare minimum myself do you think, not even bother with good morning.
