Why have I been jealous throughout my last relationship and I am jealous even know after I broke up with her?

I have been with this girl for two years and it was the first time I've ever been really jealous in a relationship. In the previous ones sometimes I had reasons to be jealous, sometimes it was just normal jealousy. In the last one I was jealous for no reason, unable to trust her although she did not give me reasons to be. Was it because she posted many selfies? Was it because it was too easy for me to get into a relationship with her? Could it be because her communication style was not as open as mine? Even now if I imagine her being with someone else I am feeling irritated. I haven't experienced this before.
