Obviously you can start relationships by friends, classmates, online, or something else. Yet, every once in a while we hear something really weird. What's the weirdest story you've heard from a friend or acquaintance about their first meeting with their SO.
I had a teammate on my wrestling team who, after beating a girl in a match got her phone number and started dating her. Having wresled several girls in highschool this is unusual because while you've already had your hands all over each other, your key goal was to incapicitate them while they were trying to do the same. There's a certain amount of animosity with someone after wrestling them, even if you don't acknowledge it.

I think its strange when people marry their child hood sweet heart because people change so much as they grow so I find it very unusual when somebody can stay in love with somebody at 40 that they knew when they were kids.
Wouldn't you have a closer relationship though?
I would not have a connecting relationship that remained the same all those years in unless it was a friend or family because bodies and brains and careers and personalities change and all that impacts the degree of attraction you feel for the other person.
Studies show that relationships between friends are stronger because the physical attraction is generally less, meaning you don't care as much about how someone looks, you care more about their personality and such. I'm not saying you should start dating at 10 or so and expect the relationship to last until death, but starting dating in your late teens or later with a childhood friend can actually lead to a pretty strong relationship. Also, an increasing number of childhood friends of a close age use each other to experiment sexually.
Fighting with someone, including horrible name calling, and it leading to tortuously awesome sex and dating.
