Should I wish him happy birthday and then not talk to him or just cut him off completely?

I found out he was lying to me about something huge and I’m just hurt because the one thing he promised to never do was lie to me and he did and even though I care about him I know I’ll never trust or respect him again so I feel like the best thing to do right now is cut out of my life. I don’t feel that I owe him an explication at all. Am I being too rash? Or should I wait before saying anything? Or should I wish him happy birthday and be done? He did wish me a happy birthday on mine.
