Me and my partner have been together for almost 3 years and we’ve been having problems and arguing a lot. We both want to be with each other but at this point we’re both tired of arguing are we selfish for still wanting to be with each other if it’s not working? Should we just go our separate ways

You can argue or you can communicate... it's up to you. If you don't like it, what's the reason you choose to continue it? As long as the two of you insist on being heard, no one will actually hear the other. If you leave your partner, you'll still have the same dysfunctional communication skills, so any relationship you enter will give you the same results. If you want to stop the dysfunctional pattern, find a therapist who specializes in effective communication skills and learn the simple basics. Communication isn't difficult, as long as your focus isn't just on yourself.
hen things get to a point of an impasse its best to part ways civilly
It's not selfish, it's just dumb.
