Is this emotional cheating?

I’ve been living with my boyfriend for almost about 3 years now. I went trough his phone recently and noticed he searched up many different girls on Instagram. When I questioned him about it, he told me that he didn’t even know who they were. I obv didn’t believe in him when he said that. The next day I brought this back up to him and asked him about it. So he admitted to me that he used to like some of those girls. We’ve been together for 3 years now and he never mentioned anything to me about those girls or even liking him.. he said he lied to me not to hurt me but him lying to me just made me no longer trust in him. He doesn’t see anything wrong with what he did but I think different. Is this a form of emotional cheating?

That’s exactly what I am thinking. He doesn’t see anything wrong with what he did and that’s what hurts me the most. I told him everything about me but I fear that he left a lot out about him..
