Does my boyfriend dislike my mom or does he just want privacy and independence?

My mom had offered that me and my boyfriend can possibly live with her later on because there’s space in my house plus it would help us save a lot of money…. my boyfriend says he does not wanna live with his mother-in-law…. is it because he dislikes my mom or is it because he likes his privacy?

my boyfriend does live on his own in a condominium and is independent…. his parents live separately from him in their own house

A couple living with one of their parents is always a bad idea. Way too many conflicts of interest.

I think it is more that he's come accustomed to having his own place and would look at it as a step back in maturity. Once a person leaves the nest, they don't tend to want to go back.
