Yes it is, definitely ! That's a real put down, sounds like he seems to thinks he's superior to you, and will I think be even worse when it comes to your point of view in future relationship issues between the 2 of you !
It’s not a red flag, he is just letting you know that you don’t get his jokes, eventually you’ll understand his sarcasm once you have been together for awhile. It’s all a part of being in a relationship getting to understand each other. It’s not really a skill you need to learn, you just need to understand his sarcasm which can take time but so do all relationships
Yes. It's absolutely a red flag. It means your sense of humor is coding and the doctors at the comedy hospital need to run into your room with a crash cart.
That sounds like a pretty bad joke, and not in a good way. If you don't recgonize jokes then it might be a problem. I like to joke around with my girlfriend and if she doesn't get jokes it takes a lot out of it.
You may not be able to take him seriously anymore if that's his idea of a joke. You're not a mind reader and if he expect you to read his mind, he's the problem who is the narcissist who thinks all of his jokes should funny.
For you just saying "really" he got all defensive thinking you're getting offended when you might just not really understand the joke if he have to lecture you like that.
That's what you get in such a situation. But what kind of reaction were you hoping for? If this was a test... it was a pretty bad one. Hell, he may have thought that you were joking in the first place.
This guy is condescending. He's saying he's right and you're wrong, and that your feelings are stupid. I wouldn't see him again personally. For me it would be a nope.
There is no truth. Something like this is entirely subjective. There is no right or wrong here, they just have different opinions. Everyone has a right to their opinion.

This. The dude thinks his POV is superior to her.

We'll all just have to pray for you!
"I was just joking' is usually the typical line narcissists say to get out of taking accountability for the things they say.
i'd consider this a red flag, and im saying this as someone who loves joking around a lot myself.
That sounds like a pretty bad joke, and not in a good way. If you don't recgonize jokes then it might be a problem. I like to joke around with my girlfriend and if she doesn't get jokes it takes a lot out of it.
No, but it's a red flag that you think it is a red flag.

sound like a dick. you should follow your instinct. its never wrong
He sounds like a bit of a dick, honestly. I would take that as a small red flag.
listening to your gut is always safer than saying I’ll take a chance.
Your safety is paramount
That's what you get in such a situation. But what kind of reaction were you hoping for? If this was a test... it was a pretty bad one. Hell, he may have thought that you were joking in the first place.
You guys maybe aren’t a match if you’re looking for a red flag on something with no mal intention. Seems like a harmless joke and he clarified.
You used the word “leery”. That implies he was thinking “oh shit, red alert”. So I don’t see the problem.
🚩 Groom staring at belly dancer at own wedding
Also 🚩 Ordering a hot belly dancer to perform at your wedding.

This another execrllent example if why men lie to women as most women struggle w/ the truth.
There is no set-in-stone truth here. It is simply a difference of opinion between OP and this man.
@Biancam13 In her story she asked the guy a question he provided the truth and she couldn't handle it.
There is no truth. Something like this is entirely subjective. There is no right or wrong here, they just have different opinions. Everyone has a right to their opinion.
@Biancam13 His response to her question is the truth I'm referring to.
Eh, I still don't think that's an absolute truth. It's just his opinion as OP has her own opinion.
But I respect your opinion!
@Biancam13 Her opinion is a result of his fact.
He said he doesn't blame him.
He's insinuating that he finds the belly dance attractive. Oof.
If he truly liked you he wouldn't call other women attractive, especially infront of you.
He's correct. You need to be able to know when something is a joke.
Seems like he was testing you. Also seems like a red flag.
my friend is a cheater and he always told me that I don't understand his joke and I am serious. he fucks everyone
He is a lying fuck boy
