So my girlfriend (avid vegan and animal activist) flew in for my birthday weekend. We were at my place and we were heading out to dinner. Before heading out I had to take out the garbage to my floors trash shoot. So while on my way to throw out the garbage a nasty neighbor girl of mine was coming in the opposite direction with her dog. I told my girlfriend to avoid any contact as the neighbor girl is nuts. I walk past and the neighbor was yanking the leash so the dog wouldn't jump at me. After I pass, some other frantic shenanigins happened that I didn't see and my girlfriend and neighbor had a couple choice words.
After this , my girlfriend said I need to call 911 and get the police to come and arrest the neighbor for animal abuse. I said I didn't see anything that would qualify as abuse and we should just leave it alone and go to dinner. My girlfriend said after I passed she kept yanking at the leash and the dog was scared and says she looked into dogs eyes and he needed to be saved. I told my girlfriend if she wanted to call 911 or some animal abuse line she can and I will support her , but I personally did not see enough to qualify for abuse.
Well my girlfriend said if I won't call 911 she's leaving, so she packed her things and left to a hotel. she's from out of town and doesn't fly back until tomorrow. Am I in the wrong here? Is she just nuts? Do I even reach out? This all on my birth day nonetheless. I feel very disrespected.
