I don't see why you would be mad. Mad because he contacted her? Mad because he was hurt by that infidelity?
Obviously it would be a double banger infidelity if it was true. It could also be possible his daughter is in fact his second cousin once removed.
You should be supportive of the hurtfulness of this discovery and encourage DNA testing. It is in your interests because it may lead to your joint household having less expenditure.
You can be mad but also if his ex wife cheated he deserves to know
