Why does it seem harder for men to find a girlfriend/wife than for women to find a boyfriend/husband?

Most young women I know in my extended family and social circles seem to have been in relationships at least once, but the same can't be said for men. Is this just my cognitive bias? Or is it true that it is *generally* easier for women to enter relationships (regardless of whether those relationships are successful or not)?

I had a lady therapist who also said to me once that "it is easier for girls".
