What day do you count as your relationship anniversary?

There are a lot of different views on this.

(Tomorrow is year 1 of when we first met and I thought that would be year 1 officially but he says its the day he asked me to be his girlfriend and chose that day for Facebook too, but my argument is that we were exclusive before he officially asked me and called eachother pet names before that which was April 19th.)

I think it’s fine to have many special days. A genuine love between two people is scared and special. I mean to be honest every day you have with one another should be special. I think remembering all of these things. Saving them. Writing them down and celebrating them together is a great thing.

Don’t get me wrong everyone is different on things of this nature. But that’s what I think. Nothing wrong with having a lot of special days

The day you became exclusive officially. It’s a celebration of that exclusive relationship and not celebrating the first meeting

I've always considered our anniversary is our first date. Back when I was married (for 20 years, then an amicable divorce), of course we had our wedding anniversary too, but I always took her out to dinner on the anniversary of our first date. Unfortunately, the restaurant where we had our first date went out of business, so we usually tried other restaurants instead.

Our first date was on December 15, 2020 and that was also the date on which we first met in person. I met Helen online and she texted only before our first date.

I consider exclusivity as in a declaration of a relationship. I'd ask as soon as she says that she wants to date exclusively to ask her to be my girlfriend. If she says no, I'd break up.
