Why does there seem to be more gay male romantic movies than any other relationship dynamic these days?

I like this question and it's really kind of nice to see somebody that feels emotion and wants to understand it and become it.
I do feel things very deep and to feel that bond that becoming one with somebody I role play are flirt because I want to make somebody feel something deep and beautiful... Well if it comes down to it I can always tell you or you can find that need or that feeling that you're looking for maybe through role play but I do hear what you're saying and that kind of sucks our world is just changing different directions

I don't watch romances so I just Googled romance movies 2023 to see if I could find some straight ones for you on the "top" list. Looks like most of them are straight based on the cover picture (1 man 1 woman). There was 4 with 2 men if those are the ones you were talking about, and 1 with 2 women if you're into Sapphic stuff. There were also a few ambiguous ones (more or less than 2 people on the cover), but most were 1 man 1 woman. So you can probably just Google it and find some nice straight recent romance movies. 👍

I'm probably the target demographic since I love gay romances. The uptick is partially due to the liberal Hollywood industry, writers using the current sociocultural climate to express queer stories they weren't able to before, and the world being bankrupt for new ideas.

Also, you're only noticing it because there weren't many gay love stories in the past. I can promise you, there's no shortage of hetero stories in the media 🧍‍♀️

LOL, this is absolutely false. Hollywood is LOSING *huge* amounts of money by doing this, but they've been doing it anyway. You would THINK that they were motivated by profits, but for much of the last 10 years, they've been motivated by ideology, and because they've been getting investment money from investment firms headed by people who were also motivated by ideology, they haven't had to worry too much about money.

The problem for Hollywood now is that these investment firms have been losing huge amounts of money for the customers that have invested in them, and those investors are furious, which means these "DEI funds" have dried up, and now Hollywood no longer has access to endless easy money that they can lose. This is why Disney and Warner are in terrible shape financially, and why Paramount is being sold off - they all embraced DEI and now they're in huge financial trouble.

They are trying to claim that, but it isn't true. They talk about the movie's gross sales, and they often talk about the movie's original budget, but they rarely talk about the fact that they routinely go WAY over budget (even when they start with huge budgets), they spend tons on marketing, and they only get a portion of the gross from the theaters.

Studios receive 50-55% of gross ticket sales from the domestic theaters, about 40% from most foreign theaters, and only about 25% from China.

The Marvels, for example, originally had a budget of $219M - which is crazy high to begin with. They claim that the budget ended up being $274.8, but that figure doesn't count the 3rd round of re-shoots and the additional post-production - the final total is expected to be about $320-325. Then, they spent over $100M on marketing - which they usually avoid talking about at all.
The total worldwide gross ticket sales were $206M, but Disney's cut of that is only a bit under $100M. That means they LOST around $325M on this movie (could be more, depending on the actual marketing budget) - yet the narrative is that they only lost $100M because the people writing the stories only talk about gross ticket sales vs budget for their calculations - which is simply a lie.

For an even more relevant example, there was Bros from 2022. This movie - a gay romantic comedy - had a budget of $22M, and a marketing budget of $40, and grossed just $14.8M in the theaters, of which the studio's cut was $7.1M. That's a $55M loss on a $22M-budget movie.
