I’ve been hanging out with this guy a lot and we get along really well. We have cuddled a few times and we’re constantly in touch. We’re each other’s best friends on snap chat. He’s even given me his phone password and iPhone location. When we’re around others they can clearly tell there is something between us.
The thing is, I asked him what we are and he said he just couldn’t be in a relationship right now. Said his last relationship drained him so much, that he just doesn’t care like he used to. Said he couldn’t be a good boyfriend, and wouldn’t be able to put into it what he would want to. He said that he absolutely hates that he feels this way.
He did say that he does have feelings for me, and thinks he’s really going to regret saying no to me now. He said he can see us being something some day, but can’t do it right now. I asked him what would happen if I found someone else, and he said he couldn’t hold me back from them, since he told me no now, but it would hurt him, and he would just have to deal with that himself. He said he really likes being around me and already regrets saying no, but he just can’t do it. He said he definitely won’t be talking to other girls, and that’s not something I would need to worry about at all. He said he didn’t kiss me yet, because he didn’t want to lead me on when he wasn’t sure about what he wanted yet, because the last thing he wants to do is hurt me. He said he really really doesn’t want to hurt me.
Do I wait for him and see if it grows into anything more? Or is it just an excuse to keep me around but he doesn’t want to commit to dating me? Help!!
